Changing an app's icon on iPhone is easy, but iOS does not let an app change its Home Screen name at runtime. LockApps works around this with a Home Screen disguise: a web shortcut that shows any name and icon you like and opens the app when tapped.

Two ways to disguise LockApps

  • In-app icon — swap the icon to a calculator or notes look (the name stays "LockApps").
  • Home Screen disguise — a web shortcut that changes both the name and the icon.

Set up the Home Screen disguise

  1. In LockApps, open Settings → Home Screen Disguise.
  2. Tap Open Disguise Site to launch the page in Safari.
  3. Pick a disguise (Calculator or Notes) and install the profile, or use Add to Home Screen.
  4. Long-press the original LockApps icon and remove it from the Home Screen.

Why a web shortcut?

The shortcut launches LockApps through a custom link, so the icon on your Home Screen can say "Calculator" while opening your private vault. The disguise blends in with your real apps.
